Sentence and Paragraph Counter
Sentence totals are approximate: abbreviations and missing end marks confuse automated splits. Paragraphs require a blank line between blocks. Logical lines follow newline characters, not visual wrapping.
How this page counts
Sentences are segmented automatically. Abbreviations such as “Dr.” can create extra splits. A block without a final period can still count as one sentence if the segmenter keeps it. Do not treat the total as a grammar parse.
Paragraphs require a blank line between blocks. Two wrapped lines with no empty line between them remain one paragraph. Logical lines follow CR, LF, or CRLF in the text. Visual wrapping in the textarea does not add lines. An empty editor shows zero sentences, zero paragraphs, and zero lines.
Try two sentences on one line, then insert a blank line and watch only the paragraph count rise. Related: counting guide · word counting article
